Overall its a very good weapon. IMO, its between a AR-15 and a Mini-14. However, i do prefer the Ruger Mini-14. One advantage the AR 180B, has over the Mini-14, is the cost of mags. The AR 180B can use military-surplus style mags, that i have seen locally for around $5.00 or so. Overall, i really liked firing the AR 180B. A close friend of mine purchased one a few months ago, and swears by his. The 180B did not seem, to get as hot, as my Mini-14 while firing high-cap mags (30 rd.) The 180Bs do not seem to be catching-on very fast in this area. Here, you can pick one up for around $699.00, which seems raesonable for this weapon. Hope this helped you out... later, Nohub

You might also want to speak w/ a couple of Gun-Shops concerning the stability of Armalite. However, if they were to fold, you could most likely, ver quickly, find replacement parts through another company. Overall, i really like this weapon but, it does have a plastic-receiver ( although it is steel lined) this type construction often requires replacement parts, down the road. IMO, that would be my 1st. concern, (replacement parts) in the future, if Armalite would happen to fold. Later Nohub
