Does anyone have the SAO version of the 220? What do you think of it if you do?

Hey everyone. I am new to the world of handguns; a couple of weeks ago I went to the range with friend and fell in love. So I have decided I want a handgun but of course there are a million choices out there. I think I have decided I want a SIG, but can't decide between the 226, 229, 220, and the SP2022. Any adivce?

USAF_LT,

I have the 220. It is probably the most accurate gun I own. I would try to figure out if you are going to carry it or have it around the house for defense. If you are going to carry more often than not, I would look at the 229 or some of the smaller guns. But, for home defense and going to the range I would rather have the 220.

The SIG P220 is one phenomenal 45 period. Accuracy is unequalled out of the box. Quality and reliability is top-notch. If you find yourself needing/wanting a 45, don't pass up the SIG P220, there is a model for everyone.

I just put a down payment on a P220 Crimson Trace. I can't wait to get the call from my local dealer/range that it is in. Unfortunately, there is an 8-week backlog on this weapon. I will give a review, after several hundred rounds. I rented the 220, prior to putting money down. My only reference point was a Glock 23 that I had several years ago. The Sig is, in my opinion, a far superior weapon!

Does anyone have a P 220 compact. I am considering a carry type 45acp. I have a p226 that offers incredible performance, but I would like to scale down on size and scale up punch.

My Crimson Trace came in well before the 8-week time frame that was given to me. I have only fired 100 rounds; I picked it up just before the range closed. So far, I love the 220!! The feel of the 220 in my hand is far superior to my previous Glock 23 (my hands are small). The laser is dead on and the Crimson Trace grips feel much better to me than the original 220 grips. I had to take out a second mortgage to be able to afford the P220 (just kidding), but early as it is in my experience with the Sig, I feel it is worth the extra $$.

Well, I put in my order for a Sig P-220R in the carry size and should be getting it in this week.

I figure it would be a good complement to the CZ 2075 RAMI that I have. I'll report after I shoot it.

Fired this in SAO on Saturday at a Range Day hosted in California. This gun is an absolute nail driver. Sights are excellent and easy to pick up. By far the best gun that I have ever shot!!! Cant wait to get my own.
