Bakl, why do you think the CZ85 is not a good home defense pistol?

You also said "if it's for conceal carry, it's definitely not for you".

I alternate my carry weapons, and usually I do carry something smaller and lighter than the CZ85, but for the past month or so, I have been carrying my CZ75BD (almost exactly the same size and weight as the CZ85, but not ambi) and it has been a pleasure to carry. I know quite a few people who carry 1911s which is about the same size as the CZ85, and a few ounces heavier.

So it all comes down to personal preference, IMHO.

Bought a CZ-85 combat dual tone last week and have had it out to the range three times this week. Other than the occasional FTE that seems to happen only on one mag (strange), the gun is flawless. Accuracy is on par with my FN57, and it's purty.

I carry it every once in a while, instead of the lighter FN. It's the gun on the bedstand, now, having replaced the Witness .45 (which works very well, too.)

I have a CZ85 Combat 9mm (excellent firearm). The slide locks back at least once on every mag with ammo in it. I talked to CZ and they told me it was the slide stop spring or slop spring as they put it. They sent me a new one free of charge (the new one is straight, the one I took out was bent) and I installed it and everything worked fine for a while and it started doing it again. So I called CZ back and they told me to take the spring out and bend it in the other direction a bit and put it back in. I did this and it worked for a while and then it bent back the other way and I have the same problem with the slide locking back. I do not want to sell this firearm as my wife and I both really like it. What I would like to know is there anyone out with a fix for this problem, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just got a CZ 85B.

It shoots great. Free standing, two hand grip, UMC FMJ, 7" group at 25 yards, 15 rounds! Yep, 15 rounds.

This is an excellent gun. Zero malfunctions.
