Anybody know if the Beretta Cougar 8000 was available in DA/SA? I've seen a bunch on line at decent prices but I've yet to find one in that configuration. All the one's I've found appear to be double action only. I love the .45 and would buy another on the spot with the DA/SA option.

Yes Doriadiver the 8000 does come in a SA/DA model which is the Cougar 8000D in .40 cal and .45ACP.

call 1-800-USA-GUNS which is kittery trading post in kittery Maine. i believe they have 2 in stock right now that they can easily ship to your FFL, may not be online pricing probably around $400-$450 + the FFL charge but the 8000D is hard to find so lol :-D hope it helps

Purchased my Stoeger Cougar 2 months ago. Purchased the 8040F model for $429.00 + tax, got the black barrel with the silver frame. Read lots of reviews and decided this was the one I wanted. I have put close to 200 rounds down range and it just keeps getting better. Nice tight groups. No problems so far. Would recommend the Cougar to anyone. This is my carry gun as well and after Santa comes to town I will have a set of Trijicon night sights. Thanks to all who reported on this gun, helped me make my decision to buy

Thanks Smithie. I have the 8045, I was in the market for the 9mm. She looks sooo lonely in the box. Actually, it's because this gun is one of my favorites and I imagine the 9 shoots even nicer (if that's possible).

Smith6906 - sorry but the D model in Beretta and Stoeger indicates DA (double Action) Only. The DA/SA if the F or L in F models.

Just picked up a Cougar this last weekend. What a great gun! Everything is so smooth on it. I picked up the 8000F ... 9mm with DA/SA trigger. I managed to get mine for $399 (it was $429 and I had a $30 off deal if you spend over 150). I think this will have to have a sibling, this is the one gun I might want a .40 in also. Very cool!

Skip the .40 and take the jump up. Not sure if Stoeger offers the .45 but the Beretta 8045 I own is everyone's favorite. Shoots well, eats everything and breaksdown easily to maintain. You can find em used out there in good shape if Stoeger doesn't make it.

Not only do they offer it but it comes with an underside rail for tactical acc's. Don't have it, yet.

Near me, one dealer has the style with the rail and the rest have it without. I bought the 9mm without the rail (like the looks of it). As far as I can tell, both can be had in 9mm, .357sig, .40, and .45ACP. I am deffinitely getting another one of these gems. I was thinking in the .40s$w (thought the heavy gun with the rotating barrel might tame that nasty guy) but maybe DD is right ... .45 would be pretty cool in this package. Whichever, I sure do like this gun. What a sleeper!!!

I should mention, I purchased mine based on all the reviews I read here. Doriadiver, Smithie, SonofMac, and others ... thanks for the great write ups guys! You were right on everything.
