I bought my 27 three years ago and have had no problems, I shoot .40 ammo for practice and drop in my .357 sig barrel and clip for carry. Greatest CCW gun made.

What I can't understand is someone buying one, then modifying it and then bitching that it wasn't what he wanted. If you don't want the recoil then buy something that has 20 more oz's and post your reply somewhere else.

sold an XD-9 subcompact to buy a Glock 27. it's a Glock, it's awsome, i currently own three Glocks. need i say more?

What a day for a trip to the range! Put a couple hundred rounds down range today, mostly 7-15 yards but even decent hits at 25 yards. I wont kid you though, I had a tough time just keeping them on paper at 25+ I've shot around 850 rounds so far, about 300 WWB some 165 some 180 grain (best bang for the buck around here) 100 Blazer Brass 180 grain (close second maybe cleaner though). Last weekend a buddy and I had the occasion to shoot an old bullet proof vest. We secured the vest to a solid core door and proceded to pummel it with every kind of .40 round we could come up with as well as a handfull of .357 magnum and a couple of 12# slugs. To my amazement nothing even penetrated the first of two layers of kevlar on the old white beast, not even multiple hits to the same spot. This provided an unique oppurtunity to recover slugs from a kevlar vest. I will try to post some pics tomorrow.

Don't feel bad about having a hard time hitting the paper at 25 yards. This is a short barrel gun for carry/self defense. Most anyone you need to shoot at will be closer than that. If you want a target gun for 25 yards or more, try a GLOCK 22, 17 or something with a longer barrel. I shoot my 27 often enough to be comfortable with it, but I shoot my 22 for target fun.

I have a Glock 27 and did not know that you could also shoot sig357 rounds out of it by replacing the barrel (and obviously with the proper magazine). I like the 40 round alot. Is there an advantage to using the 357 over the 40 besides the price? My Glock is going to be my CCW. Thanks guys.......

jaimie, the magazine is the same for the 40 and 357. The only difference is the barrel. It's an excellent carry gun, how difficult is it to get a carry permit in CA. That is a "may issue" state isn't it?

Kentuckian, I am a Correctional Officer in California and am able to carry CCW. Yes, I have run into a parolee or two that I had known inside Folsom prison where I work here in california. They hate us outside as much as they did inside. Being a female and training with weapons for over 20 years now I can handle larger caliber rounds. I currently CCW a little Walther PPK/S. Thank you for the info on the Glock 27 conversion. But, what is the advantage or disadvantage of of the sig357 over the 40? That is what I need to know so I may make my choice on which one to carry in my Glock when I CCW. Thanks again.........

Stay with the .40 in a small gun like that, the 357sig is faster and has more penetration, sort of a super hot 9mm, I don't know if I'd call it better though.
