Ruger GP100-first gun!

Postby oldhammer » Sun Feb 14, 2010 1:19 pm

FINALLY getting around to picking up my first handgun and the winner is the GP100, best all around first (maybe only) gun I'll have. Anyone know what a real market price for a new one should go for?

Bud's Gun Shop has two of them right now, one for $468.00 and the other for $515.00. Good deals...

You won't regret the GP-100. Great choice.

Hey,lastrebel.....I think you did quite good. The GP is a great solid shooter....The msrp. in 2007 was 552.00. Enjoy it!

Yep- made the GP100 my first gun also back in the Spring and really love spending time at the range with it. have also recently picked up a very nice 9mm and love it also but at the end of the day at the range always find myself grabbing the big ole revolver to finish off with. Its a real gun and enjoy handling the cartridges, loading, and the heft of something solid and dependable. Think my wife is a little jealous of it actually!

The Taurus 605 is a great gun, but shooting .357 in them is a bear. Hard recoil and man what a racket. I owned one that I should have never sold because you can always shoot .38 +P's in 'em.
