Gun Shows

Postby rlamma » Wed Mar 21, 2007 4:19 am

This might be a stupid question but I've never been to a gun show and am considering on going to one soon. The guns that they have there, are they used or new or both? what do they have more of, new or used?

Yeah, I've been involved in a few arguments pertaining to gun prices and values. They'll try to present some of their weapons as worth more than they are worth. Most all of the gun shows that Ive gone to have everything from antique firearms to brand new, knives holsters, sights, all kinds of parts for weapons.

Here in Florida, the shows also have CCW classes. Caveat emptor...

Yea...some people think just because they own it, that makes it special or worth more $$$. Few weeks ago at local show, this fellow had a Mod 94 Winchester pre-64, that I have been looking for, to add to my Winchester Collection. It was in very good condition, but his price was way-off.( i offered to pay for an online ap) Some people do not understand collectable vs. useable value.. and some are just looking for a sucker!..later, Nohub

True as True can be, nohub. Do you remember my post about the guy trying to sell an AMT .380 with a lot of engraving work for around $349.00 or more? Prime example. He went on to say that the gun was one of only a few made. I'did'nt believe another word out of his mouth after he tried to convince a lady that AMT was still in business and going strong. "all you have to do is call them up and they'll mail out any part you need...yeah American Metal and Tool".

It's Arcadia Machine and Tool...don't believe it just 'cause they say it's true...Glockman...caveat emptor...

Yes, I sure do..that is an excellent example of some (not all) that one can encounter at a local show.
